for working on hard tissues.
Mechanism of veneer and
porcelain crown removal, review of literature on the subject
Clinical cases discussion using
photos and videos as a proof of concept.

Understand how lasers interact
with living tissues, ceramics, zirconia
Appreciate differences between
different types of lasers in dentistry
Understand where lasers are
beneficial in cosmetic dental practice
Learn about different
laser-tissue interactions and which one specifically is useful when debonding
porcelain veneers and crowns
Learn treatment protocol and
settings for removal of veneers and crowns using YSGG all-tissue laser system
Guest faculty:
Marina Polonsky DDS, MSc, holds a
Mastership with WCLI (World Clinical Laser Institute), Master of Science in
Lasers in Dentistry degree from RWTH University in Aachen, Germany. She is a
recipient of Mastership Certificate with ALD (Academy of Laser Dentistry), is a
recognized member of the ALD Speaker Bureau and was recently elected to the ALD
board of directors. Dr. Polonsky is a founder of the Canadian Dental Laser
Institute (CDLI), an AGD/PACE approved organization dedicated to providing
quality continuing education in Laser Dentistry in Canada. CDLI is the only ALD
affiliated international study club in Canada.
Dr. Polonsky maintains a private general
practice in Ottawa, Canada, with focus on multi-disciplinary treatment
utilizing lasers of different wavelengths.
