UB Faculty Presenter:

Othman Shibly, DDS, MS
Assistant Professor, Department of Periodontics and Endodontics, UB School of Dental Medicine.
My area of research is mainly done on human clinical trials focusing to the role of chemical agents local and systemic as adjuncts to periodontal therapy. My studies involve clinical evaluation of safety and efficacy of oral hygiene devices, such as toothbrushes and irrigation as well as chemical agents used in dentifrices, mouthrinses, and other delivery devices. These products are mainly designed to treat gingivitis. My research related to periodontal disease deals pharmacologic medications and their impact on the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease.
